Already YOUNG
Project scope
Video application for YOUNG, Head of Creative Studio & Brand Operations, 2026. Role as Storyteller, Creative Director, Producer and Editor.
Scenario
Every job post is a portrait of someone who hasn't been hired yet. YOUNG isn't a single company but an ecosystem of them: founders building and accelerating their own ventures, with one studio behind every brand, website, campaign and launch that leaves the building. In 2026 they opened the seat at the head of that studio (Head of Creative Studio & Brand Operations). The post didn't ask for an agency veteran. It asked for a leader who thinks like an entrepreneur: "someone who takes ownership and gets shit done." YOUNG wanted to see their candidates on video, not just read about them. The portrait they'd drawn was the brief. The application only had to show them it was me.
Approach
Most job posts are written in the future tense. Most applications answer the same way, with what they would do if chosen. Instead of asking them to imagine me in the seat, I spoke from it, as if it were already mine. The film was framed not as an application, but as an introduction: the kind a company publishes to welcome a new leader to its team. The responsibilities in the post became the script, spoken in the present tense: leading the internal agency for every YOUNG company, owning its output and priorities, managing budgets and suppliers, building workflows that scale, and bringing in the AI tools that make it faster. Nothing added, nothing dressed up. Simple on purpose. The words were theirs. The voice and conviction were mine.
Impact
More than a hundred people applied for the role. I landed an interview with one of the CEOs on the same day I hit send. A role built on ownership doesn't wait. Neither did they.
